How much does early decision help?

Postby notaznguy » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:21 pm

A friend of mine, who is White and not URM, got a 159 on his LSAT and ED at UC Hastings and just got accepted. This is pretty astonishing considering, well, he's not URM, and the fact that Hasting's median is 163. Hastings is a top school for me if I score around 160-164. Do you think I should ED to Hastings if my LSAT score is around that? So far I'm PTing at 160-163.

Also, if you ED, does that mean you are automatically out for any scholarship considerations?

Isn't it late for ED? Even if it's not, with rolling admissions the available spots are probably fewer now than had you applied earlier.

Also, you're not precluded from scholarship consideration, it's just that you have nothing to negotiate with.
