This is pretty clearly describing the hiring process for undergraduates. To the extent she's covering law firms, she's probably looking at the market for paralegals at elite firms. Even if she covers associate hiring, it would probably make up a small fraction of her study and get crowded out by the rest of the data.

ya, and the conclusion that cal is a 2nd tier undergrad institution totally discredits this stupid study.

It's not the paper's conclusion at all! The paper is reporting what the people they studied at banks and consulting firms said and did while hiring.

Remember, at blackstone they said something along the lines of "we usually hire at Harvard and Wharton. We've got one Yalie this year, we're keeping a close eye on him."
