My advisor is encouraging me to apply to the georgetown part-time program. Are there any drawbacks to applying to both the full-time and part-time programs? If I do attend the part-time program, would i be able to transfer to a fulltime program at the georgetown and/or at another school?
My numbers are 173, 3.04... thanks!

One of my mentors did that exact thing at Georgetown - he started in the part-time program and transitioned into the full-time program. He was actually really glad he started off part-time. Apparently it made the hellish 1L year a lot easier to manage and the transition into law school easier for him, FWIW.

I think with your numbers that you have a real good shot to get in full-time this year.

FWIW, I looked into the PT program at Georgetown myself and apparently they are ending students' ability to readily switch from PT to FT at will. When I talked to the admissions person on the phone, they said that the only switches they're allowing from now on is if the student had "drastic changes in circumstances." I asked the rep to elaborate on what that constituted, but they gave the run of the mill PC answer and kind of deflected my questions. Moral of the story, GULC is still a great PT option, but it may prove difficult to switch to FT if that's your goal.
