I'd be interested in hearing some opinions on this too. Anecdotally, a friend of mine went to Ohio State and she told me that most of the students try to stay in Ohio. From what I've read on this site, my guess would be that Wisconsin and Ohio State place in their respective states with Wisconsin possibly shuffling some people to Minnesota.

I think somewherewarm hit it pretty much on the head. They are mostly in their own states, but some grads do cross over adjacent borders. I've applied to OSU because it isn't much of a stretch for a grad from there to work in Pittsburgh or Erie, PA. I know that if you want to remain in Ohio it's the place to be.
