It didn't happen this time.

And usually doesn't on the internet.

Protip: OP, when you're soliciting knowledge and advice, it's best to avoid coming off as an insufferable prick. Yes, even when someone makes a mildly sarcastic comment. I know, it'll be tough at first, particularly if this is your true personality shining through. But suppressing that urge towards douchebaggery will go a long way in not making everyone instantly hate you. Which can only be a good thing. :)

Also: search function, brah.

I think everyone annoyed by my response could have/should have taken that advice.

Clearly -- people with huge post counts were offended.

Edit: Also, people who think that just because they COULD offer advice to someone (readily availably advice it turns out) means that that person has an "onus to be nice" to them have deep emotional issues. Fact of life kids.

I understand you might be more knowledgable, but when you're an ass, it's fair game for that person to be an ass back to you -- don't presume they have some sort of asinine obligation to be nice, and then be offended when they don't meet that expectation.

Ahh man, I'm better at this than I thought.

We didn't want anything from you. Therefore little motivation for us to conform.

Worrying about what scholarships you'd take or turn down before being accepted is about as worthwhile as trying to talk to the OP.

I know, typical douchebag. I don't need anything from someone = no need to be nice to them.

I was actually pretty nice to you. Or at least professional. You were the one throwing out douchebags, stfu, emotional issues, etc.

1. Sometimes those things are true.
2. You should go back and look at the posts again, you were a random person who injected himself into the debate...who decided to call me a douchebag...and then expected me to be nice to him just because he COULD offer me some advice.

Wanna call this one a win for me and move on?

Also -- it IS weird to hang around a law school admissions forum once you're in law school, especially if it's your second year already. Stop being a douchebag just because you've been here for an unnecessarily long time. It is not an accomplishment.

I called you a douchebag in response to your use of the word in this post. HTH.

The very notion of a debate involves the injection of opinions.

Edit: Finally, you my friend are far from a win. You have a lot to learn. I only hope, for your sake, your offline personality is less abrasive then your online one. Maybe rule out H now since it requires an interview...

Yes...you responded to me being a douchebag by being a douchebag. The point is...that is what I was doing to that other guy...so it's fair.

I love you?

 The difference is, I'm bored and killing time. OP really cares/thinks this way.

Also, 2L so you won't.

Is it fair to assume people get 1000+ posts via pathetic arguments like this?

Lol, yes - the "I'm bored" excuse.

Why didn't I think of that...

Why do you insist on continuing in this vein? You could easily move forward with the on topic responses and not encourage thus fuckery.

Because people like you keep siding with one of the douchebags in the debate and expect him to stfu?

Did you even read my first post ITT where I actually tried to talk about the topic in question? And I didn't side with anyone, I got annoyed at your continued debate over etiquette and refusal to address people still making valid points. Also, what is "people like you" supposed to mean?

People like you = people who tell me to be quite about forum etiquettes when the same could apply to the other guy.

I DID respond and try to take the discussion back early on, actually.

The consensus seems to be that CCN are preferable over the other T14s (except HYS). But big scholarships would convince some to go somewhere else...except when BigLaw NY is their main goal.

I guess the main concern is whether N gives you considerably better job prospects than the other T14s, and thus is it worth the presumed higher price tag? A full-ride at Cornell would be nice but if it's going to be difficult to get into BigLaw to begin with, it might not be worth it in the long term after all.

How hard is it to get into BigLaw if you don't get in immediately/shortly thereafter law school?
