How are you so sure that this is the only kind of law work that you want to do?

Go to the cheapest school you get into, no matter how terrible its reputation. Med mal plaintiffs only care about your bus stop ads.

A per se rejection of med mal as a legitimate practice area is naive. Don't listen to these tards. If you want med mal, go to Emory, preferably with a degree from a state school for UG so plaintiffs know you're on the level.

Good. Stick it to 'em. Doctors are self-righteous and condescending pricks. "Look at me, I save lives." Yeah, not impressed.

This post is weird. Why Emory? Of all schools?

FL is solid. State court its super easy to survive summary judgment (no "put up or shut up" rule).

I hope I get to operate on you one day. Just tell everyone what you do for a living and you'll get great/no care.

The advice to get the cheapest J.D. you can is correct IF you are absolutely SURE you want to do just plaintiffs' work. The plaintiffs' bar is made up largely of small firms with pitbulls for partners. The right case can pay very well (unless you live in a Tort Reform state) but the bulk of these cases aren't worth pursuing. Success depends entirely on knowing which cases to take.

Personally? I think I'd rather keep my options open. A strict diet of tort plaintiffs will teach you the true meaning of the phrase "whining, lying bastard". Felony defendants are a much better class of people.

If it makes you feel any better, my opinion of insurance companies isn't any better.
