I think this question should be reduced to a matter of earning potential. So the question is can i expect to earn any more morey i i attend American U instead of Catholic U. O course there is also the prestige factor and that American U ofers a JD/MBA and Catholic does not.
So is their a difference in earning potential? Or does everyone who goes to either school just end up unemployed

Clearly you don't want to hear the answer people have been giving you. If you want NYC, neither will get you there. If you want DC, it is most likely that neither will get you there either. You really should consider a retake. Because of this site I put off school for almost two years and got my LSAT as high as it would go, and I am thankful everyday I found this site and WAS SMART ENOUGH TO LISTEN to the advice here. To use a phrase I've seen here before, asking which one of these schools you should go to is like deciding if you want to die by drowning or by a bullet to the head.

Having said all that, my guess would be you would have a slightly better chance coming out of American than Catholic, sep. with a top 25% stip for the scholarship.

I don't think either is a good choice

It's really virtually impossible to talk people out of taking on $200,000 with almost chance of securing employment to pay it off. Look at NLJ go to law schools. American is somewhere near the bottom of the list with no more than 12-14% getting these jobs which you will need to pay off your loans. It's so obvious that you don't want to hear what everyone is telling you.

No one is questioning whether or not you want to practice law, but whether the schools you're considering will provide you any realistic chance of practicing law in the city of your choice - or even with gainful employment in the legal field, particularly in light of the debt you are contemplating assuming. The DC job market is tough enough for T14 grads. Ask yourself why, when hiring partners, etc have been rejecting scores of T14 applicants for several years now, a graduate from a non-peer school would be given preference.

You don't "need" to choose between American and Catholic (or Brooklyn); you can choose to wait a year, bring your GPA up even to a 3.3, and take your LSAT up to 170+, or thereabouts. Judging by your handle, I'm going to guess that you're 21/22 - you have plenty of time. Apply very early next cycle, with a flawless file. Try for a T20. Work experience will help. You say you want to practice law, and that's fine - just do yourself a favor and give yourself a reasonable shot at doing so, even if it means extending your time table.
