Santa Clara job prospects with hard science?

I've seen a lot of hate for SCU on this board, with most of it centered around their low employment rates and average starting salaries.

That being said, I'm looking into IP and SCU has a very high ranked IP program. I have read that someone with my background (BSEE and industry experience) has pretty much no problem getting a good job coming out of SCU's IP program, but don't know how much truth there is to that.

Any thoughts, particularly from those who studying law with hard science backgrounds?

(Current stats are 3.68 BSEE, 157 LSAT, retaking Saturday.)

IP helps at any school. Santa Clara having a stellar IP program hasn't done much for their overall employment stats, so don't count on that.

What you should do is look at the websites of top IP firms in California. See how many of them have Santa Clara graduates.

When he looks through the rosters of market-paying SF firms and can't find any Santa Clara grads, he'll get the picture.

This isn't quite present, but it's probably the best information (or, at the very least, presentation of information) you can get:

tl;dr version: outlook is bleak

Employment numbers post-class of 2009 are likely worse. Good luck on the retake!
