What will happen if Cornell places amazing NLJ stats again?
If they place like they did in 2010 will people still make excuses for them immensely out preforming NU, Duke, Michigan, NYU, UVA and Berkeley or annihilating Vandy and Texas?

Somewhat less shitty than others is "amazing"? What about all the previous years when those other schools posted better numbers?

I would say 58% vs 30s and 40s is not just less shitty but I guess it is? To be fair absolutely yea the others could see higher numbers this year but what if they don't will you shit a rainbow?rayiner wrote:Somewhat less shitty than others is "amazing"? I will still view Cornell as a low tier ivy league school that licks the ass of every other ivy league school except brown and that is full of mediocre students who are prestige whores.

I will admit, pro-Cornell trolling is kinda new and intriguing.
Well, new, at least.

It seemed fair that they get a turn. Next up is strong anti-Stanfurd trolling.vanwinkle wrote:I will admit, pro-Cornell trolling is kinda new and intriguing.

This is one of the worst thread concepts I have ever seen on tls.com.
OP, Cornell almost always posts "amazing" NLJ stats. Last year was the outlier, not this year.

"Amazing" in this context is relative to the rest of the T14. Cornell normally is within the top 8 of the T14 in terms of immediate NLJ placement post law school. Frequently, it's in the top 6.

I remember reading a few months back that the numbers were already leaked for Cornell, and they dropped drastically....I think there was an article in above the law, Were those numbers real?

I think about 40% of the class got NLJ 250 SAs. But to be fair class of 2011 was generally screwed, it's not a Cornell problem.icouldbuyu wrote:I remember reading a few months back that the numbers were already leaked for Cornell, and they dropped drastically....I think there was an article in above the law, Were those numbers real?

In an indirect way this thread gets at something that interests me, which is the relationship of job placement to school prestige. I'm not sure one necessarily absolutely follows the other.

Brown is hardly a lower tier Ivy. Penn and Cornell are.$1.99 wrote:why else would i be poking fun of lower tier ivy league schools? by your hostility, i am going to assume you went to the lower tier schools. hahaha don't be so sensitiveetlien wrote:Did you even go to an ivy...if not...move along...$1.99 wrote:I will still view Cornell as a low tier ivy league school that licks the ass of every other ivy league school except brown and that is full of mediocre students who are prestige whores.

Not since the early 90s. Penn lacks lay prestige, but as far as ivy undergrads go, it's in the middle of the pack. As for Brown, maybe the name used to carry more weight, but the times are-a-changing.etlien wrote:Brown is hardly a lower tier Ivy. The way I see it:
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn/Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown

Does that mean I cheated by going to a state school, saving a shit-ton of $$$, and getting into an ivy LS anyway?$1.99 wrote:that is the way the world sees it and it is a fact, i am sorry you wasted your time at brown. isn't that where that dude from the movie Varsity Blues went to?
