DC Metro Area (Northern VA)

Postby cmartin5970 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 9:13 pm

I really want to live in the DC metro area or northern virginia. I know working anywhere in DC is almost impossible unless u go to a T14 school so I am not even going to try that. I really just love the northern va/dc/md area and want to live there and work as a public defender or something along those lines. I got a 163 LSAT and 3.5 GPA and from UNC. I am pretty sure I can get into UNC but I am not sure whether I should go somewhere less prestigious such as Richmond, which is in the area, or go to UNC which is farther away.

Here are some schools I'm considering:

UNC
Wake
Richmond
William and Mary- only if some sort of financial aid
University of Baltimore
University of Maryland- probably too pricey because I am out of state

Again, I really just love the northern virginia/dc area and do not want to work in the city or in a big law firm, but do want to live within the region and any input about which school to choose and my chances of getting in and even scholarship chances would really be appreciated

You were averaging 153-155 on your practice tests but ended up with a 163? Holy shit. Jut take that score and run with it! Or maybe, practice until you get in the 163-165 range and score a 173 on the real deal and then go to a top 10 school.

That's quite an impressive jump

Yeah man. And I thought I was special for beating my PT high by a point.
