The answer to your original post is: yes. It would be worth it if you had knowledge that admission to UVA for '15 is set.

I think that is is safer to be in a T14 in this economy (with all the implications that a T14 has in big law and clerkships).

On top of that OP has a chance to potentially widen the gap between this recession and her graduation date.

Finally, I know prestige is a difficult concept to quantify, but I truly believe that it is one of the rare things in life that you cannot "buy". Vanderbilt is an excellent school, but it does not have the prestige of a T14 yet.
