Does anyone know if the Arizona Bar and CA Bar have reciprocity?

Hold on, are you the one who was granted the one-year deferral by AZ and committed to withdraw from other schools as part of the agreement? If so, how did you resolve the dilemma?

Nevermind- sorry, someone already addressed this. It does sound like you have a very similar situation to that other poster, but luckily it sounds like you're not yet committed either way.

No, they don't. At least I am fairly certain they don't. I would be surprised if CA bar has reciprocity with any other state..

Quoted from Answers.com (not verified):

According to the California Bar Association's website, "there is no reciprocity with other states."

I do realize this is a personal decision -- I am not actually trying to get you to tell me what to do, I'm just running my differential a la Dr. House

If you want to work anywhere in CA then Davis by a mile since the offer makes them comparable in price.

That would personally make me pretty uncomfortable. I have found that accepting large sums of money from family members often involves strings and unpleasant emotions, even when there aren't supposed to be strings (and I think that potential may be even greater considering that it is a relative other than a parent, though I do think that even with parents this can be an issue). Obviously it is a nice gesture that they are willing to be generous, but if I were in your shoes I think I would decline the family offer even if I decided on Davis. But that may just be me-- I don't like feeling that I owe people anything on a personal level, and I'd rather keep financing agreements between me and financial institutions rather than between me and people in my family (unless truly necessary or close to it); even if it means taking more debt. Just some of my thoughts, in part because I've seen money issues twist up family and friend situations pretty bad, especially involving large gifts. At the very least I think if you do accept the gift I would get it in writing that it doesn't need to be repaid in any way at all, money or otherwise (an email confirmation of this would probably suffice). Again, just my opinion.

Sacramento?

Please . . . . besides Davis wouldn't be ranked what it is without "University of California . . . " in front of it.

wow. 41 to 30. I guess it takes withdrawing from a school to finally get TLS to start voting for it...

...thanks a lot to everyone who helped with my decision.

Even though I voted AZ, I'm glad you made a decision and hope you're feeling good about it. Good luck next year!

That's me. I really could have picked a less conspicuous TLS name :)
