Give me some advice and I will show you my..................
LSN profile.
I just got increased offers on 2 law schools I was considering. I was looking to go to Indiana with a 120K scholarship until both of these offers just came in. I would like to stay on the East Cost/Mid- Atlantic area. I am looking for the school that opens the most doors and will present me with the best opportunity.
It seems the W&M is more established? Wake seems to be on par with W&M in terms of placement? IU-B seems like the up and comer?
Any insight is appreciated.

Re: Which will bring me better opportunity?
If you want to stay on the East Coast/Mid-Atlantic, IU-B isn't going to get you there. I prefer W&M, and the price difference between W&M and Wake isn't huge, so it's up to you which school/location you prefer.

Mid-Atlantic, go to W&M.
If you have a hankering for NC specifically, go to WF.

If people could explain their votes it would be much appreciated.

Amending my earlier response, I'm not exactly familiar with what Mid-Atlantic means and I'm not sure how you're using it. I had thought it meant DC/MD/VA area, but apparently it can include NY/NJ/PA.
If you want VA and/or the states around it then W&M is your best shot. If you want NY/NJ/PA then none of these schools are really good for that.
The cost for these schools is pretty good and close enough to justify you picking your regional preference. If you prefer VA over NC/IA then pay the extra to go to W&M over WF/IUB.

I am pretty open, to be honest.

Then I think you need to decide what is most important to you (a bit of money or a location preference, it's not like W&M is exorbitantly more and can be ignored outright compared to a peer school for far less since all these schools are peers). It seems like IUB is off the list immediately since it costs about the same as WF and is in an area that you prefer less than WF.Exeter wrote:I am pretty open, to be honest.
- If you prefer NC: Wake Forest.
- If you prefer VA, is it worth the extra debt that you would have to take on?
- Yes: William & Mary.
- No: Wake Forest.

I really do not have a preference for one of the other. NC and VA are both great states. I am more concerned about which does better? Prestige is somewhat important and also how deep do firms go into with each class?bk187 wrote:Then I think you need to decide what is most important to you (a bit of money or a location preference, it's not like W&M is exorbitantly more and can be ignored outright compared to a peer school for far less since all these schools are peers). They are peer schools, they do about the same. The difference between the two is marginal and you aren't going to be able to do poorer at one of them and get a better job.Exeter wrote:I really do not have a preference for one of the other. That is why I say you should base it on either cost or regional preference because the prestige difference between these two schools is so small that it shouldn't be a factor. VA firms will hire deeper into W&M, NC firms will hire deeper into WF.
