Maybe it's just me but I haven't found a decent place in or around Boston for $1,000/month.

In contrast, Vandy predicts ~13k for room and board -- my thoughts are that this: (i) is enough to get a much nicer place in Nashville than Boston, or (ii) allows those students planning to live on the cheap, to spend less than the allotment.

Is my math way off or have others noticed this same point?
I can't speak to the Boston schools (though 12k for room and board seems crazy), but every Vandy student I've heard from on TLS and IRL has said that Vandy highballs their COA figures, so your math is probably not wrong.

Wow, I am shocked by Vandy's margin of victory in the poll. There is not a dramatic difference in job placement between Vandy and the others when it comes to NYC Biglaw, which is what OP says he wants; look at the very latest NLJ250 numbers. Nor are they far apart in the rankings. Nor are there dramatic differences in COA as between Vandy and the Boston schools; Vandy has lower COL but also a smaller scholly and higher tuition. To me, this is a toss up among Vandy, BU and BC, and the OP should go with his gut after visiting.

I do agree that Fordham is out, due to the higher COA and the OP's preference for going to school away from NYC.

I think you're a little late; deposits were due yesterday.
