Have you ever been to Delaware?
Many times. Is there something wrong with tax free shopping (which I of course remit on my state income taxes...ahem) cheap booze and sturdy screen doors? Its the simple things in life that I enjoy most...

Seriously though, as someone from SEPA, I've been to DE many many times and its alright...but its not like...oh my god i need to be in delaware for the next 30 years! Heck I'd take Delaware County over the entire state of Delaware, but that's just me.

And if you're still undecided, Wayne and Garth put the Delaware debate to bed... http://youtu.be/8v9-BWReQ6w

Lots of those come from career planning/Craigslist postings, adjunct professors, family friends, etc., and if you do a good job, you have a chance of getting a full-time offer. In those cases, it often doesn't matter where you go to school.
These are the interpersonal relationships that can make the difference between getting a job and standing on the bread line. You've got to back it up with grades, but, as much as I hate to admit it, Philadelphia still has aspects of an old-boys network in many ways. Granted I may benefit from the connections I've made myself in my paralegal WE and my small business catering to law firms...but I'll also benefit because I can pick up the phone and talk about the good ole days with Judge so and so when I house-sit for him or the partner at Blank Rome who convinced me Temple was the way to go, ect.. Between networking, internships and those personal relationships you won't necessarily guarantee yourself a job, but they damn well can get you a phone number, an e-mail address, something or anything to help you along in your search, if you're hungry enough.

Maybe I'm naïve, but so far all my experiences have led me to believe that many lawyers in Philly (not most but definitely more than a few) want to help out an up-and-coming kid if he or she is hungry enough, especially since most of them got a boost from someone like that 20 years ago. Again that's from my personal experience, so YMMV...

True. But Lower Merion >>>>>>>>>> All other Philly suburbs. Besides, there are a lot more Norristown-like (and worse) municipalities in DelCo than MontCo.

All the suburbs kind of blow.

When you're UG/LS age, yeah, but the Main Line is a great place to grow up/raise a family.

I mean, people tell me that, but I'm unconvinced. Every time I've been out to the Main Line, people have been mostly unfriendly, and I get some kind of weird nihilism vibe from all the bars out there.

Some people are snobs, but when you want nice things in life, you have to put up with some bullshit. I can't comment on the nihilistic vibe, but then again, I always go into the city to drink.

Agreed. I suspect we just differ in what we think of as the "nice things"

Maybe you'd like South Jersey better. It's more laid back, but it's also a lot more bland. But differentstrokesandallthat.

Nah, man. The blandness is part of what I dislike about the Main Line. I'm gonna stay in Philly for as long as I'm in the area.

Just to revive this thread, OP, where would you guess your rank was after 1L? Whereabouts did you finish?

How readily does Temple accept 3Ls from other schools as visiting students? Have legit health reasons for wanting to be in Philly.
