I think W&M is the best value on your list but since D.C. isn't particularly high, you want a big city, and you want biglaw I think you should go with BU.

I'm not sure how late you get home and how many hours you have between then and when you go to bed, but that is the perfect time to take some pt's. If you can get through pt's when your mentally fatigued, you will find that the one's you take on the weekend and the actual administration are a piece of cake.aliarrow wrote:
The thing I worry about most is finding time to study for the LSAT retake since I don't typically get home until the late evening. I'm thinking of trying to do one full timed PT Sat and Sun, then maybe try to do one twice a week in the office (off the clock) after everyone leaves. Just review/study independent sections whenever

As "academia" and "possibly" non-legal academia are fairly low (i.e., not first) on your list, and as all of the schools listed will yield almost indistinguishable opportunities for potential opportunities in academia, I encourage you not to let that be a factor in your decision-making process.

out of all your choices BU seems like the best option. But i'm surprised there isn't a comparable school Cardozo you'd want to attend that would be significantly less COA.

Brooklyn is a tad cheaper. Any of the NY City schools would still be expensive even with a full scholarship due to COL.Patriot1208 wrote:out of all your choices BU seems like the best option. NYC is the only city I wouldn't mind being completely stuck in, which is why those are really the only lower ranked schools I applied to.
I'm shooting BU an email to see if I can at least squeeze something out of them with that Fordham money

If you want NYC, go to Fordham. It is the best school in the 15-30 range in NY and places better in NY than any of the other non-T14. Easy decision. If you are uncomfotable with the debt, go to Cardozo.

Whoops, just realized the W&M deadline was May 1st. I hope I don't get in trouble for including them in my negotiation letter.

Dozo.
1. If you want NYC, go to school in NYC.
2. Fordham may have been $80K better than Dozo when it was placing 35% in Biglaw, but not now that it's 26%. Having a 1 in 4 Biglaw shot rather than a 1 in 8 isn't worth that big a differential.
3. You want to minimize debt in case there is a period when you are un- or under-employed.
Retake is also a defensible choice. But on the other hand, for a 3.5/167 I think you got very good results in your cycle, and next time you might not.
