Jesus Christ. Go to NU and bring your Harvard acceptance letter to interviews. Any sane interviewer will be impressed by your ability to get into Harvard and at your prudence for taking the shitload of money from NU.

(But if you and your SO REALLY, REALLY do not want to be in Chicago for 3 or 6-7 years, then you just have to weigh that against paying a lot more money to be where you want).

But I'm a 0L, so what the fuck do I know.

You can probably put Wigmore Scholar on your resume.

I ended up deciding on Harvard. Looks like my financial aid package at Harvard will hopefully match the Wigmore.

No, I was not aware that that's possible. I have a wife and kid which ups my allowance...

Thanks for all your help on this thread!

I know someone who went to Harvard and is now a mid-level associate at a large law firm. I asked him about his experiences (since I was originally seriously considering a T6 school at sticker). He told me that his one regret wasn't going to a lower T10 school essentially for free. He says that he would almost certainly have ended up in the same kind of firm with the same kind of salary, but without the 200K in debt he is slowly but surely paying off. He doesn't particularly love the large law firm life, but he said he really can't leave until the loans are a bit closer to being paid off. So for what its worth, this Harvard grad himself would say to take the NU scholarship absent an extenuating reason why Harvard is the right choice (i.e. you want to go into academia, you want a premium clerkship, etc.)
