Using a Cardozo scholly to bargain with Emory

Postby ballpop » Mon Mar 21, 2011 4:51 pm

So I have a near full scholly at Cardozo, and a small one at Emory. Was wondering if there is a possibility that Emory might budge to sweeten my deal.

I know they aren't peer schools, but the gap is ~70k and if I can narrow it, it makes Emory seem a better choice (and also keeps my possibilities of a JD/MPH open)

Somone in the Emory group said that Emory isnt negotiating schollies. Dont know if thats true. I think that it is in one of the three most recent pages.

Even if they were, I don't know how you can use Cardozo. Fordham maybe, but Emory is heads and shoulders superior, and they know it.

It directly says on an e-mail that they don't negotiate schollies much as the US government openly says they don't negotiate with terrorists, but everything in life is negotiable.

+1 to what everyone is saying.

I tried to negotiate and was shot down. Although they were very nice about it, the result was the same.

Emory refused to negotiate my scholarship and I was coming with full tuition at IUB, UIUC, half tuition at Minnesota and about 2/3 tuition at WUSTL. They were nice about though so it can't hurt to try, I just wouldn't expect anything.
