My guess is that he got into HYS shortly after applying, gave them up for love over glory, and then it all backfired when she left him after getting in off the HLS waitlist. I see why he threw the table now.

The irony is of course that he likely only withdrew at the end, to go to NYU with his love, who then got his (recently vacated) spot at HLS, and promptly dumped his ass. He was the agent of his own demise, poor bastard.

i don't know, there are some high-gpa/low 170's LSATs on LSN for harvard and stanford, and 172 is actually stanford's 75%. i also like to think a 3.83 from swat counts more than one at a school with more grade inflation/less challenging classes.

It's a shame, because looking at the stats, it seems like 172 is almost definitely a ding, but 173 would give you a shot at H. Also, I'm not knocking it, but assuming anyone does actually give a bump for UG Prestige/major, are they going to actually consider a gender and sexuality studies major more challenging than the standard fare they see on HLS apps, even from a top lib arts school?

to be fair, most of this doesn't really sound like advice; it was more just trying to piss me off so i continued saying dumb, entertaining things for the benefit of people who live for/on TLS. twas my first post on tls and i actually just wanted to chat with others in a similar situation. ps we broke up 1.5 months before i got in to harvard.

one thing I realized the first few days of being on TLS is that if you don't have thick skin, you're going to get easily affected by what people say here, and people here are brutal. Sometimes they're brutal to be honest and realistic about your chances (which is helpful) and sometimes it's just people with shitty personalities who just want to watch you burn, usually because they're jealous. If you'd rather avoid the drama then I wouldn't use TLS as a forum for anything personal or in any matter where you would expect some congenial environment that you experience on some other forums.

Don't let some randoms on the internet affect your emotions. At the end of the day, TLS is merely some nerdy internet forum with regulars that just have too much free time on their hands and would rather spend it on the internet forums all day
