Loyola has a huge alumni base so it somewhat overperforms compared to its peers. Also everyone I know that goes/went to Loyola really liked it, can't say the same about Pepperdine.

I do not envy you. It is a tough decision, no doubt. If you can, try to take the longer term view. Your first job out of law school will not make or break you, contrary to what many on TLS believe.

seriously????

if you are set on the west, not worth going to WUSTL or EMORY. I'm down with portland and it would suck if they did not give you any money. But loyola not only would dominate all the other schools in LA, it still beats out Emory and WUSTL combined with jobs in CA. Plus, being in LA will allow you to expand on the ties you already have there. If you prefer NOCAL, then consider Davis if you get in.
good luck

OP. If you have any specific questions about Loyola, feel free to PM me. I transferred there from Southwestern, made Law Review, elected Articles Editor, publishing with a Journal at the University of Maryland... Loyola has been good to me.
