So credited for me as well. :(

+1. When I tell other people (especially 0L buddies) about the acceptances I received, I always get the wide eyes and the congrats. When I tell TLS, I always get the "LOL that's it?" or, at best, "Meh, I guess that's ok."

It can be easy to forget that TLS exists in a bubble, and the high-achievers that populate these forums are not at all representative of the larger pool of applicants/law students.

Oh yeah. Whenever people congratulate me about acceptances, I want to correct them.

You sound pretty intimidating kid. Do you have a magic wand and cast spells in the courtroom and stuff?

Just a great deal of practice dealing with people and getting what I want.

That's called whining, not mindfucking. You're a whiner, not a jedi.

Without TLS: I would have been class of 2011 at some T2, probably be unemployed at the moment

With TLS: I am class of 2012 at T10, ended up with some offers from some of the top law firms in the world, have BigLaw pretty much wrapped up

After working as a legal assistant for two years, I've seen a pretty wide range of personalities/egos. I'm sure it's different in each region i.e. NYC vs Atlanta

I used to be stoked about the prospect of going to a good T2 at sticker. I'm now headed off to a school in the 40s with $ and I'm terrified.

I'm going to Cornell and if they don't offer at least a half-ride, I'll join the military or something.

I.... thought Pepperdine was the elite law school in California. God I'm glad I found this place.

On the con side: now if I don't make 145k+ after LS graduation, I'm a failure.

Before I found this site, I weighed 319 pounds. I had bad skin, low self esteem, and no self respect. Now I eat success for breakfast... With SKIM MILK!

TLS has taught me that schools with T's in their name are inferior to schools without T's, especially in regards to Biglaw placement.

I just had this conversation with my girlfriend. My how far I have come since my discovery of TLS.

January 2010: I could go to (T50) but I don’t think I will get in because they are really competitive. I might as well just go to (TTT) because they have a night program. I am aiming for a 160 on the LSAT. I am bummed that my pre-law advisor said my minority status and extensive work experience won’t help me get into school.

March 2011: I am worried about turning down a T6 for a lower ranked T14 with money and I laugh at people applying to my former choices.

Oh, so it turned you into an asshole?

As for the effects TLS has had on me:

It's made me much more attuned to the hazards of ITE and the importance of not throwing down sticker for a school that has the same career prospects as another one for less than half the money. On the other hand, it has cultivated a minor inferiority complex for scoring very well on the LSAT instead of amazingly, astronomically well, and for getting good money from a school many of my peers were denied from that has a lot of respect in my region. I feel somewhat shittier about being in a pretty advantageous position in life.

I'm still on here daily, though, and if I work my ass off in school, the fear of ITE on these forums played no small part.

Yah I guess it sort of did. Or at least a prestige whore. Hopefully it pays off in the end.

Before: Willing to pay sticker at any school in T100
After: Probably going to turn down 60K at Emory for UA or IUB at basically 0 tuition.

I went from casually studying for the LSAT, knowing regardless I'd go to Nebraska to having to decide between Nebraska for free, T14 with ridiculous debt, and varying options in the middle. And now I have a more realistic outlook on employment after graduation. Thanks TLS and knowledgeable posters!

Before: No way schools can lie or fudge the salary data, that can't be legal.
After: l can't believe schools lie so badly/manipulate the salary data.

That's what it did to me. I cried both when I got a 175 (sad) and got into Columbia (happy), despite TLS making me think I should have ED'd to UVA to avoid getting locked out of the T10.

I friggin love this place.

It's been a great support system when all of my friends were like, "Just got to the local T2s, they're good schools."
