I'd take the Dillard because graduating from a T10 completely debt free would be baller.

Career goals?

I would probably go UVA if i were you, but if you really want academic opportunities Harvard would be a better fit.

PS - Congrats, that is an amazing offer. Probably better than a Hamilton or Darrow.

According to Fresh's thing there is only one person that gets it. I guess this could be a throw away though. Sorry if you aren't a flame.

TCR is the Dillard

Hardy Cross Dillard isn't even ranked, are you sure they're accredited?

Two U.Va. Law students in each entering class are awarded the Dillard Scholarship. But aren't the Dillard Scholarships awarded in September? That's when they are announced, at least.

I think this might be a flame.

Congratulations on the Dillard Scholarship then! Very impressive.

For government work, definitely take the money at U.Va.

For a clerkship immediately after school, go to Harvard.

If you want to do appellate work early on, you'll have to get a top-flight clerkship (probably Circuit Court). Harvard will definitely give you a better shot at COA clerkship, but grades/Law Review will be a bigger factor (as between these two schools), IMO.

Whether you will do well enough at either Harvard or U.Va. to get a COA (or similar) clerkship is indeterminable at the moment, and the U.Va. scholarship sets you up so nicely to do government work. There aren't many sure things in law school. Yale and a full ride at a T14 are two of them, though.

UVA 2L here - there are definitely several Hardy Cross Dillard scholarships offered every year and a varying number of people accept them each year. Also, while they are typically announced as a news story in the Fall, they are offered at or around the time of acceptance.
