Fordham vs. Emory
Fordham with 10k/year
vs.
Emory with 25k/year
I probably want to work in/around NYC eventually, so I would rather go to Fordham in that regard.
Will I be able to parlay the money from Emory into more from Fordham? I know they're stingy with that stuff, but (obviously) I would like to avoid debt to whatever degree I can, and since Emory is ranked higher, I figure it's at least worth a shot.

For NYC, Fordham is the better choice. Will Fordham match Emory's offer ? You won't know for sure unless you ask.

Re: Fordham vs. Emory
ps what do you mean w/ 10k? w/ 25k? is that how much each will cost?
Or, are you saying the size of teh scholarship and expecting us to find out how much tuition is and than subtract it form teh amount you listed, all so you can brag about how large your scholly is?>

If you want NYC, you have to choose fordham. Emory doesnt really feed into NYC. Fordham is atleast respected by NYC employers, although youll have to do well.CanadianWolf wrote:For NYC, Fordham is the better choice. Will Fordham match Emory's offer ? You won't know for sure unless you ask.

Dude, no bragging intended. Was just looking for some advice. I got a scholarship from Fordham for 10k/year and a scholarship from Emory for 25k/year. It's not like I'm the first person who's ever posted about a scholarship on these forums.

If you can handle Atlanta, Emory. If you must have NYC, then Fordham, but even with 10K that's a lot of money. Fordham is horribly stingy with money since they are so poor compared to the other T30s.

That's what I've figured. I'd really like it if Fordham would give me a little more money though (shocker), so I'm hoping I can talk them into it.BeachandRun23 wrote:If you want NYC, you have to choose fordham. Emory with $75k is probably worth it. Fordham with $30k is probably not. You can theoretically get NY from Emory, but it's unlikely. Consider Atlanta. I'm not sure Fordham is worth the risk.

Re: Fordham vs. Emory
Has anyone been paying attention to Emory's disastrous placement and the reports of its complacent OCS? I don't think Emory with $75k will be worth it when a school with better prospects is offering any kind of scholarship.
Try to leverage the Emory scholarship to get more out of Fordham, but even if you can't get anything more, I would still take Fordham--especially for NYC.

Fordham will still cost like probably $170k-$180k? No way that's worth it. I'd still be nervous about Emory, but it's not a throughly reprehensible decision.showNprove wrote:Has anyone been paying attention to Emory's disastrous placement and the reports of its complacent OCS?
