I'm pretty sure GW will be in there somewhere. Maybe tied with WUSTL, maybe tied with Emory/BU/Illinois.DeSimone wrote:No momentous changes likely in the T14, so let's move right down to the fun part.

I don't get the point of these stupid threads. They seem to pop up every day - who cares?

Doesn't USNWR tie down instead of up?

It would be sort of odd if they did. Imagine three people running a race, and the 2nd and 3rd person tie. It would seem weird to say that they tied for 3rd place.AreJay711 wrote:Idk why I always thought they did.rman1201 wrote:No.AreJay711 wrote:Doesn't USNWR tie down instead of up?

Lol or perhaps we are just so used to the legal profession doing things in completely arbitrary and seemingly absurd ways. I mean, this is a profession where it matters whether or not you italicize a period. I wouldn't put it beyond them to think of an arbitrary rule with regard to tying downward when making a list.

I know there are a lot of elements in the rankings, some legitimate, some dubious, but I am still wondering why Minnesota and WUSTL are consistently ranked higher than BU/GW/UIUC/ND, etc. Especially Minnesota. I mean heck, I'm not knocking it, I applied there. Does the fact that unlike the schools immediately following them (except maybe Iowa) they don't have a T14-desirable main market they feed into? I know employment is just one aspect but I am genuinely curious.

Hurt their employment? It doesn't seem so, or if it does there it is only slightly. They are regional schools though so if you want to work in particular market it would be best tot choose that school.PomasThynchon wrote:I know there are a lot of elements in the rankings, some legitimate, some dubious, but I am still wondering why Minnesota and WUSTL are consistently ranked higher than BU/GW/UIUC/ND, etc. Especially Minnesota. Just proving that it doesn't really matter. In my mind, UGA wins. I'm in state, cheap tuition. I agree with most that rankings do not matter after #18, and I really don't think they matter after #11.ThomasMN wrote:Blatant Cooley trolling.Pricer wrote:15. Cooley

This proposal could make admissions policies and reporting techniques REALLY fun: http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog ... a-bar.htmlPomasThynchon wrote:I know there are a lot of elements in the rankings, some legitimate, some dubious.
I'd personally love to see what these rankings would do to shake up the USNWR order.

Hey, don't joke about Miami and Tulane. Those are actually schools that could be argued top-30 or at least top-40. And we all know Harvard is the worst school in the country.Pricer wrote:15. Cooley
