guess the 2011 nlj go-to schools rankings! (just for fun)
Last year NLJ published their Go-To Law Schools list in the Feb 22 issue of the national law journal. Assuming they keep to a similar schedule, the new rankings should be coming soon!
ITT: Either list what you expect the new rankings to be or call out which schools you think will be big movers and why they will move
For reference, the rankings from 2010 / % of graduates at NLJ250 firms are listed below:
1. Northwestern/ 56%
2. Columbia / 54%
3. Stanford / 54%
4. Chicago / 53%
5. UVa / 53%
6. Michigan / 51%

Come back to talk when your school can place >10% of it's class in big law.ndirish2010 wrote:Yep, we're all just TTTs.

Chicago as a market got absolutely fucked by the economy. Schools like Illinois, Notre Dame, and Wustl got decimated. The ND OCI threads from the last couple years were absolute shitshows.2011Law wrote:Desert Fox wrote:Come back to talk when your school can place >10% of it's class in big law.ndirish2010 wrote:Yep, we're all just TTTs.

I guess we'll see. I have a hard time believing we'll go from 28.8% to <10% (and I don't think it will be <10% for this year's OCI either), but you could be right. Still a little insulting to be called a third tier school.

Not sure about the rest of the schools but Cooley will probably be #2.

I like all the NYU love in this thread, but I don't think NYU will be #1. I just saw our c/o 2010 clerkship numbers, and they are a lot higher than in previous years. Therefore, fewer NYU grads headed immediately to firms this year.
