Louisville:
1) 20k/year with my 10k/year scholarship, which I negotiated from an initial 8K/year offer. (Admissions said 10K is the final amount, though I am planning to go back to them with my Case money and if Kentucky offers anything in the future)
2)My SO was accepted into Louisville Medical School (MD program), so she would join me at the same university
3) My SO's immediate family lives in Louisville
U. of Kentucky:
1) Sticker @ 29,000/year: no scholarship offer yet, though they are reconsidering my file given my Case Western scholarship offer.
Drake
1) 15K/year with my 17,500/year scholarship
2) SO was accepted into Des Moines Medical School(DO program), which is 10K more per year than Louisville Medical School
Case Western
1)29K/year with a 10K scholarship
Stats: 159/3.57
I am leaning towards Louisville or UK at the moment, given my significant other, Louisville's scholarship money, the warmer winters, and connections in the state.

Re: Louisville vs. UK vs. Case Western vs. Drake
it looks like its between kentucky and louisville. Visit both, and compare your visits and criteria for each school. Weigh out the pros and cons for each, and take into consideration the area- and final cost. It sounds like you want kentucky- so try to see which school places better in the cities/. towns and places you want to settle down in.
If its a tie- go to the school that has the best financial package for you.

I have no problem living in Louisville or Lexington, though anywhere else in Kentucky would be a major stretch. The COL is low in both cities.rebexness wrote:Do you plan to live in Louisville forever? Lexington?
Either of those are good options IF you plan to stay there.
LV seems like the clearly best choice, but I am unfamiliar with the COL there. I'd assume its very low like Lexington. See if you can bump up that scholly offer.

Anyone familiar with the area think I would be making a major mistake going to Louisville for 20K/year over sticker at U. of Kentucky?
