I'm not commenting on the merits of the argument on either side, but every candidate's qualifications should be verified just as the Illinois Supreme Court thought it worthy examine Rahm Emanuel's residency.

I do think that the president should meet all the lawful requirements and that figuring that out is worthwhile. I also think that the relevancy or irrelevancy of the USNWR rankings is worth figuring out as well.

That being said, once someone has been found meeting all those requirements and once a rankings system is determined to be irrelevant, unless new information that would change the previous findings comes out, further discussion is pointless and possibly even harmful.

What matters more is the geographic location and biglaw placement of these schools.

I realize the rankings don't really matter that much, I simply found the number of schools all ranked at #28 plus the quality and number of schools ranked at #34 could make for some interesting movement within that range. I just thought it would be an interesting exercise to see where people thought things would shake out.

No, actually he's continuing a discussion about whether he was discussing starting a discussion about the #28 spot on USNWR.

My prediction:
Fare Better: BC, UW, UNC
Feel the pain: W&M, UCD, UGA

One of these schools could easily fall to #33 or worse depending on what other schools do. There are a lot of strong schools at the #34 spot as well.

UGA is on fire! You kidding me with uga dropping? They had double the apps last year... (p.s.- way more than increase at most places). Look at the lsat and gpas, its been going up.

Throw in in-state at what, 15.5k ITE. No way UGA is dropping.

Did the medians change? According to the TLS write-up(http://www.top-law-schools.com/georgia- ... f-law.html) the medians were exactly the same for the 2009 and 2010 entering classes. The acceptance rate should be substantially lower though.

It's actually pretty sad if they nearly doubled their applications, yet were unable to move the needle when it comes to the medians

Boston College LSAT 25/50/75 stayed the same at 163/166/167, but their GPA 25/75 went from 3.34->3.45 and 3.68->3.70 and their number of apps actually decreased slightly.

I'm thinking UGA's median will bump to 165 this year.

The problem with UGA is its in Georgia. Although mad props for keeping that tuition reasonable.

I've always wondered why UNC is not in the lower 20's instead of the upper 20's, they are very well regarded school regionally. Thoughts?

I wasn't able to find their stats from the 2010 entering class on their website. Maybe I missed it, do you happen to have the link or know where to find it?

Thanks again M_M, where are you finding these numbers? Not questioning them, just want to know if there is an easier place to find them than looking on individual school websites.

I have an admissions packet from UNC with their numbers sitting next to me on my desk and W&M's I got from their website.

Isn't UFlorida the only school lower than rank 27 that isn't in a tie? Let's have threads about all of those ties.

I for one would like to see the tie at 98 broken, which would bump some schools into the tierd tier.

There is already pretty much 0 qualitative difference between any of these schools. Who cares?
