Loyola(NOLA) vs. UMiami vs. Quinn
I want to practice public interest when I graduate - at least thats my plan now....
Having a hard time deciding...
Miami - with no scholarship money
Loyola New Orleans- $19,500 yearly if I can stay at a 3.0+
Quinnipiac - $25,000 yearly if I can in top half of class
Loyola has a debt relief program if you go into public interest, but if I go to law school and start to be attracted to another form of law that doesn't really matter. Miami is the better school in terms of ranking, but after no scholarship money I don't think I can afford the school or the cost of living down there. CT is tempting but I don't know what the rest of my class will be like and if I lost that scholarship money I would be screwed.
any thoughts?

Post a poll....
Quinnipac. Owns the market for the most part and gives you the opportunity to switch sectors without going into major debt.
or
Loyola. For obvious reasons.
Miami is just too damn expensive to think about doing PI. They do have a PI scholarship there (isn't awarded to a large amount of people) for those who are devoted to that. I want to say its a full-ride but don't quote me on it.

Forgot about them. Just wouldn't go to UM for sticker. You can get some good options out of there but the downside is horrible.HeavenWood wrote:UConn?mez06 wrote:Post a poll....

I applied - Haven't heard yet, but I don't think I would get a scholarship if I do get in because I am below their median LSAT, so it would be the same type of decision just substitute Miami with UConn.

Re: Loyola vs. UMiami vs. Quinn
I question the opportunity for "good options" coming out of Quinnipiac, when UConn grads are struggling. I'm not familiar with the Connecticut legal market, but it would seem that Quinnipiac grads would be at a distinct disadvantage.mez06 wrote:Forgot about them. Just wouldn't go to UM for sticker. Regardless of all that, "retake" remains TCR.

Why has no one bothered to ask OP where he plans to practice?
Also, doesn't Quinnipiac cost something like 45k/yr while Loyola costs about 35?

Quinnipiac is about $42,00 and Loyola is about $36,000. - so more or less they will be about the same in cost when you factor in the scholarships I received from them.
No thoughts as to where I would like to practice. I am open to practicing anywhere.

UCONN pulls better in Connecticut than QU, at least for law school. Undergrad it is the other way around.
