I think I know the answer most people will give, especially ITE, but I just wanna see what the numbers come out to.

edit: changed the question a little, and you can change your answer if you want.

Definitely really financially risky.

Probably Not but if you are 100% sure you want to fight for a firm position in BU/DC/or St. L then it may not be terrible

I would attend GWU with no scholarship. I'd consider BU with no scholarship. There is no way in he22 I would attend WUSTL with no scholarship.

You would attend GW full price if you wanted to work in St. Louis or Chicago or Minneapolis? Your comments make no sense...it completely depends on where op wants to practice...

Echo Informative, except GW at sticker is insanely expensive - COL is super high + high tuition already.

35% - BC/BU
32% - GW
27.5% - WUSTL

Chances for NLJ250 employment as per latest stats. Maybe lower now; who knows? But even taking into account clerkships and whatnot:

RESOUNDING NO

Most of TLS would say no, I say I would easily go to BU at sticker. But then again I am the one saying Fordham at sticker isn't a terrible idea. I am just not that debt adverse I guess.

I do, so yes. I wouldn't have gotten $$ anywhere worth going, though. It's definitely not the most financially responsible plan.

I might, but it depends on:

(a) your other law options (50% off at at T30? or are we assuming it's WUSTL/GW/BU or nothing?)

(b) your other non-law options (3.92 GPA in bio-engineering from MIT? or are you a 3.4 poli sci shithead?)

(c) your expectations (would you be happy doing any job in law, eating ramen every night, and making less $$ than your fat, associate's degree-possessing wife? or do you need an upper-middle class lifestyle, stability, a job you like, and a hot wife who doesn't despise you?)

More from the general attitude ITT that going w/o scholly is a terrible decision.

yeah most of the thread posters wouldn't do it, but I figured that the poll would be closer to 1/3 yes. Not that I'm basing my decision on it, but nice to see so many other's that'd do it.

were you mostly looking to go to GW?

it's still a mountain of debt. i wouldn't do it without a good idea of how i was going to get out from under that debt if i struck out with biglaw+PI (huge possibility of this happening).

FWIW, I've got GW at half CoA and I'm definitely leaning towards reapplying if I strike out of the T14.

fwiw, TLS does not represent the world, i remember some past poll where like 50% of the people voting said they currently attend a T14

TLS doesn't represent the world, but that doesn't make GW with a lot of debt a smart economic decision.

no. thats a huge amount of debt.

If you arent sure, pick a region, and blanket the schools in the one you want. See how it plays out.

If you are dead set on those 3, then perhaps a re-take , re-apply next cycle with better numbers would help?
