NYU (sticker) vs Indiana (full ride)?
Still waiting on more schools, but I'm interested in possibly international law or public service...interests not cemented. Also, want to be practicing on the East Coast. Would be nice not to be in debt, but I really don't want to stay in Indiana. Advice?

Go w/ NYU. It's def better than Indiana for the East Coast but you'll have a lot of debt. Assuming you do well you're better off at NYU since you'll at least be on the East Coast. If you don't do well at either, you're either stuck in Indiana debt free or East Coast w/ a lot of debt. Then again, depending on Indiana's scholarship stipulations you could be screwed w/ debt and in Indiana. So it really comes down to how much you care about location and debt.vitamintime wrote:Still waiting on more schools, but I'm interested in possibly international law or public service...interests not cemented. Just an FYI: Indiana's scholarship stipulations are not stringent.

The idea that you're actually considering Indiana in this situation must be a joke, right?vitamintime wrote:Still waiting on more schools, but I'm interested in possibly international law or public service...interests not cemented. If you want the sound financial decision: Indiana. (But seriously, get the stips removed from your scholly.)
If you want to work on the east coast or in a prestigious firm with a hefty dose of risk: NYU.

if you want to go to the east coast but don't want to be in debt, you should apply to a school that would give you $$ on the east coast (and if you can get into NYU, i'm guessing most schools on the east coast would give you money.) problem solved!

Anybody know any specifics about how stringent IU's scholarship requirements are?

I think it's just maintaining "good academic standing" which is like a 2.3 gpa.hopefulsplitter1 wrote:Anybody know any specifics about how stringent IU's scholarship requirements are?

NYU.
It might help to think about what class rank would be needed at Indiana in order to have a reasonable chance of transferring to NYU.
