I think Vandy will move up to 15 or 16. GULC and Cornell aren't dropping out of T14 anytime soon.

If that was in response to me... I wasn't saying Vandy would knock GULC or Cornell out of the T14 (whether it should or not is a different matter, but neither here nor there...). I was simply rebutting Informative's suggestion that there is no significant placement disparity between schools ranked 15-30.

15. Austin
16. UCLA
17. Vanderbilt
18. USC
20. WUSLT
20. BU

Austin bumps UCLA as the cali schools jack tuition and texas job market excels.

BU is cutting their class size by 30 and increasing stats, I'm pretty sure they will be back in the T20.

Where did you hear that? I guess size-wise that will put them at BC's level even though BU already has a clear-edge in admissions stats.

I also think this WUSTL eclipsing USC talk is silly. Even if WUSTL does, placement-wise, its still lags behind GW, Fordham, BC, BU, etc. WUSTL is going to be in the running for school most overrated by TLS, along with UCI.

15. Texas
15. UCLA
17. Vandy
18. USC
19. ND
20. WUSTL
20. BU

The new library plus my attendance gives Notre Dame the boost it needs to be a T20.

It wouldn't be out of the norm for the rankigns to normalize a bit and WUSTL to drop a few spaces. I doubt it will go back to the 30s, but it definitely "could" drop to the 25-30 range.

You do know how the rankings work, right? (They're mostly BS factors, but that's besides the point). WUSTL has been solidly in the 19 spot for a few years and is improving in their raw score relative to the schools around them. Absent some really weird fluctuation, the odds of them slipping is pretty darn low.

Again, this is all just for fun and I don't really care one way or the other. Anyone basing their decision on movement in the rankings from year to year is just being ridiculous. But there is no rational basis for assuming WUSTL will fall out of the top-20, and the odds of it happening (based on trends in USNWR raw score) are slim.

informative is, without a doubt, the most consistently anti-WUSTL poster on TLS. just fyi.

If you have to consider attending a school 15-20 then you shouldn't be considering law school at all.

I don't feel this way personally, but I was surprised nobody said this yet...or at least RETAKE

I have to second those who say that these cutoff ranking figures don't matter. I talked to a few lawyers who have an idea of what the rankings are now, and they said that whenever they say top 20, they are almost always referring to the actual top 20 plus a number of the strong regional schools that hover just outside. On that same note, they also said that they aren't speaking literally when they say they only really hire from the "top 14" schools either since they said they almost always hire from the 15-20 schools as well. Thus, theres really no difference which school gets the 20 spot and which one is 21 or 22.

+1. WUSTL is a juggernaut at 19. Kinda makes it a target for an unusually high degree of criticism, though.
