I just received a Northwestern waiver, but have absolutely no chance of getting in.

Those things are tempting!

Applied to 10 schools, 9 were fee waivers. I only paid the full price for the one school that I really want, because I didn't want to wait until after my October LSAT score to apply there. When I started getting those waivers, I applied to a handful of the better ones just to play the field.

Applied to 20 / Fee waiver to 15. You'd be surprised how many give you them when you simply ask.

LSAC fee waiver FTW! (Got merit-based ones from at least 8-10 anyway)

UCLA is the only UC I applied to, but it was definitely with a fee waiver....

Dangit. I even said please when I asked for one. In retrospect, my one UC app should have been UCLA instead of Davis.

Columbia was completely random, I have no idea how I snagged one with my numbers, considering I will never get in.
Agree that they're totally random with their FWs but I know someone who got in 173/3.5. Non-URM, good PS, and some decent WE/UG softs, but numerically inferior, my Yooper friend. So...maybe they're playing the acceptance rate game, maybe not. Tough to say.

Ha yea. I was worried about my cycle because of some character and fitness issues, and I had a ton of fee waivers so I figured why not.

I got one to Columbia and I don't have their numbers. At all.

Well if they're going to invite me so they can reject me and boost their selectivity, I'm going to punish them by making them read my boring PS.

5/5. Just applied to strong regional schools in the area I'd like to practice. No real reaches, looking for scholarship money.

13/2 (hopefully I'll get some fee waivers tomorrow)

The 13 includes the schools I applied to with my 160.
