I'm an undergrad at W&M, so I can't speak to the law school culture. I will say that 3 years for me in Williamsburg has been more than enough. There are upsides and downsides. Campus is beautiful, there is a lot of shopping, there are tons of restaurants, and cost of living is very inexpensive. I'm a dog owner and it is a nice place to have a pet.

I would say that the smallness of the college and the lack of a true nightlife here can be stifling. It has its charm, you wind up knowing everyone, but then again, you wind up knowing everyone. Its a retirement town, too, and there is a certain hostility to the student body from the locals. There are 4 bars in town that students frequent, they are all small, but they aren't very expensive.

Its close to Richmond, which is a nice city. Its close to Norfolk where there is more to do. I'd say you won't be wasting away here, and my reservations as an undergrad may not apply to law school students, but I will say almost all the seniors I know are ready to get out.

Most law students don't have time for a " night life" anyway so may be a good thing
