How hard is it gonna be?

Post by scrowell » Mon Jul 12, 2010 2:40 pm

Ok so i don't do much HW or anything right now in undergrad, i pretty much just chill and i have a 3.13 GPA. i got a 153 on the LSATs like a month ago. i'mapply (hahahahah new word :P) to these schools:

UDC
CUNY
New England (and maybe Western NE)
Florida International
Golden Gate
Suffolk
NYSL
St. John's
Pacific

(the part time programs at all of em except at CUNY, cause they don't have one!!!!!!!)

Anywaysss, does anyone know which of these schools give the most work? The least? Basically I like my life the way it is, just do a lil HW once in a while, and just chill out and watch movies and stuff mosta the time. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks dudes (and dudettes)! You guys rock (and rule)!

On the off chance you're not a flame:

1) Law school is hard, the legal job market sucks, first year grades are critical to many desirable employment outcomes, and all class are curved such that there will always be a fixed ratio of winners and losers

2) All law schools have a damn near identical first year curriculum, taught by professors who went to Yale* and teach in the exact same method, with the exact same exams, from the exact same coursebooks.

*For the sake of this advice, assume that Yale means Yale, Harvard, Stanford, or possible a T14 / the law school itself

So, in sum,

1) If you go to law school to chill/slack it will be an unmitigated, expensive disaster

and

2) There are no slacker law schools.

HTH.

This. But also, going to the schools you listed is going to make it so you have to work much harder to even get a job upon graduation. Plus, the practice of law itself can be difficult/time consuming, especially if you want to make money. Don't go to law school.

Edit: Or at least take some time off in between to get your priorities in order and develop better work ethic (and get a higher LSAT score  )

itll be as hard or easy as you make it... your job prospects and outlook will be as bright or dim as your work ethic and willingness to put in the effort decide it to be.

btw there is always someone who graduates last in every law school. And Ill suppose theres always at least one person who gets the JD and does nothing with it( cant get a job, doesnt even land an interview. IF you want either or both of these honors- its all up to you bud.
