UCLA is a great school. It's a hard choice. I think in the end it really is about where you want to work. It would also really help to know how OCI transfers are faring at UCLA. I think you'll find a job in New Orleans (though admittedly some self-interest in that opinion, as I already mentioned I have a very similar rank), but UCLA is undoubtedly the better school by a wide margin (though much love for Tulane)

yea...you really cant say enough good things about the place. im just worried about how much work there really is in that city. Gotta love it though. Goodluck at OCI if you do decide to stay. where did you look to transfer to?

I didn't pursue it. Like I said, personal attachments I couldn't leave. Had I been unencumbered, probably would have seriously looked into UCLA, Vandy, BU/BC and GW, and only Vandy could have definitely pulled me away.

Where are you from originally? Do you want to return to your home region?

Transferring would likely better your chances for getting a summer associate position at a big/mid-sized firm.
But $0 debt is a "sure thing."
Tough call. Good luck.

yeah, agree there as well, though other considerations are the very low COL in New Orleans, and Tulane's reputation in that city. There are a fair number of mid-sized firms that pay "decently" here, and with the COL you can live very well, especially without the debt. And if you already love the city....Still, understand the appeal of UCLA. But again, how are transfers faring there?
edit: out of pure self-interest I've reconsidered. You should transfer No, seriously, g'luck, I think you'll make out fine either way.
