Boston College versus Boston University

So there are a number of schools that I really don't know how one would chose between. Boston U has a higher ranking, but Boston College is better respected in the city. Just for the hell of it, either with no money from either or full rides from either, which one would you pick and why?

There are already a million threads on this very topic. Search through them and you will find pretty much every single reason that one could give for picking one school or the other.

Because no one ever has a new perspective on anything and reasons never change.

Given that these threads are as recent as about a month ago, I really doubt much has changed or some new reason has emerged that no one up to this point thought of.

BC if you want a nice campus with more of a University feel. Plus 1 if you want to have a car.

BU if you want an urban campus with less of a University feel. Plus 1 if you don't want to have a car.

These are really the only differences. Some will say that BC is better, while others will say that BU is better. In reality, they are probably the same school as far as academic reputation and law firm placement. They are very different, however, in terms of lifestyle. BC has that large university feel to it (even though it is actually the smaller school) with their top sports programs and beautiful campuses. BU has that city urban feel (think NYU) and is closer to the heart of the city.

A friend of mine put it this way, comparing them to the NYU Law v. Columbia Law debate:
BC is like Columbia. More prestigious undergrad, better overall university name, more national name recognition and slightly on the edge of the city.
BU is like NYU. Urban and trendy. Good law school despite a mediocre overall university. Feels like it is in the heart of the city. Better nightlife within walking distance of the school.

In the end, just pick based on what suits you, because both schools have great name recognition and reputations.
