Are you talking scholarship $ in exchange for deferring, like Northwestern does?

In that case, I'd probably defer a year for $10k/year more in scholarship money, assuming it didn't come with any contingencies (like, "stay in top 20% of your class" or "this scholarship becomes a loan if you transfer or don't take the bar").
