how late can I defer?

Post by agentzer0 » Mon May 24, 2010 1:38 pm

How late will most law schools grant deferrals? I've already submitted my seat deposit and checked the box for "attending this fall"... and decided this week that I want to defer a year. Chances of success?

Depends on the school and on the reasons for the deferral. If the school has a policy of granting them (or no expressed policy saying no) and you have a legitimate reason (Sick family member, Teach for America, etc) then I think chances are good. Usually your forfeit you financial aid by deferring, so make you discuss that with the school.
