I will be a student this coming year at Loyola Los Angeles. Although my family lives close by in the San Gabriel Valley, my objective for the year is to become as wrapped up in my life at 1L as possible - with my studying, networking, and general school-related activities. Home is too much of a distraction/bother for that, and I also don't want to commute every single day.
That said, does anyone know a good place to start looking for housing? I went to school in the Bay area but the LA housing market is totally foreign to me. Now, since I am not going to be commuting, I want to live as close as possible to the school. I know the area is crap, but something within 5 miles would be ideal as long as I am by a gym and a supermarket.
