Thoughts on American

What are the employment prospects for American U Law? For the record, I'd like to work in D.C.

Decent. But I don't have any stats. Why not look at their website for employment records or ask the admissions office? I bet they could give you some.

American is a great school. However, it has the same problem that schools such as Fordham/Brooklyn/Cardozo do in NYC. While its a Tier 1, it's also the third best school in DC (behind GULC and GW). If you're interested in public interest or government work than I think American is still a solid choice (especially in DC). If you're not, then I'm not sure its worth sticker because I'm not sure the employment prospects are good enough to pay back that debt. Just my $.02 though.

Data posted in 2008: http://pdfserver.amlaw.com/nlj/composite.pdf

I think most will say not to go there with hopes of biglaw and that it is probably not worth sticker.
