Only if comparable private schools cost that much by then.
...I doubt they will cost 54k in 1-2 years, or whatever the going rate is right now for UCLA.
I'm pretty sure the projected increases are contingent on the cost of comparable private schools going up that much. This year, the UCs are still cheaper than USC and Stanford, and I don't think that's going to change (instate, of course, but it's really easy to get instate tuition in CA after your first year).

I don't think they consider GW a "peer" institution. or enough of one. They moved when it came to Vandy though.

I had this option (eventually UCLA threw 30k total) and never seriously considered it. Maybe it's because I was never set on LA, but it wasn't a difficult decision. DC is great. That's quite a bit of money. etc.

Visit with an open mind to the school and to the city.

Thank you all for your input. I'm flying to DC tonight to visit GW. I still have 9 days until the seat deposit it due at either school. Right now I'm leaning towards DC. I think with the location and the considerable difference in debt, it'll leave more doors open in the long run. If I end up at UCLA, I'm pretty much consigned to biglaw - and I'm not sure that's the direction I want to go.
