Pepperdine has a good alumni network and a relatively high name value in its market whereas Hofstra has neither.

I don't think that a Hofstra JD is too great an investment.

+1 regardless of cost, the three years of your life is the bigger investment

There's a reason they're willing to have you attend and barely pay anything. You don't belong there.

They definitely do not. Not even close. Hofstra is way down there, and Pepperdine is 3rd behind UCLA>USC>Pepperdine>Loyola (close 4th). Plus way more top T14-30 grads gravitate to NYC than to LA. And no one will have heard of Hofstra in SoCal.

None of those are LA schools. SD's alumni network won't help you much in LA and Irvine's is nonexistent.

Both are very regional schools in super saturated markets. I am not too familiar with Hofstra but if you are not too worried about where you end up working I would take the money and work my ass off... good luck!
