ASDs, ASWs, and Campus Visits

Postby Burberry by Burberry » Fri Apr 09, 2010 2:00 pm

I've visited some schools and a couple were disappointing. How representative are ASDs, ASWs, and campus visits/tours? Is what I experience during a visit what I can expect if I enroll?

I've been to three ASDs and about twelve campus visits, but I'm not an expert. ASDs are conducted in a very controlled manner IMO. Assuming that a school puts its best face on for prospective students, I don't know if you can expect a much better experience than what you see at ASD. Campus visits, on the other hand, probably more accurately reflect the environment of the school. If I had the time, I would've visited the school on short notice and also attended the ASD, just to see the discrepancies (if any).
