which to choose?

Postby lawschoolprospect » Thu Apr 08, 2010 4:56 pm

Any opinions????

I am a female, underrepresented minority- Though I'm not sure, where I want to practice, I'm from NYC, and most likely would want to return there at some point. Not sure about practice area but
here are my choices:

Case Western, Brooklyn Law , Howard, Temple, Catholic
(**Case gave me $10,000, Temple gave me $12,000, Catholic gave me $5,000)

Please let me know what you think.
Thanks!!

Brooklyn Law is really well respected in the NYC area (obviously), although from what I hear, Case Western places well in NYC too. Brooklyn Law is adjacent to the Kings County District Attorney's office (I interned there as a UG, lots of Brooklyn Law 2 & 3L interns) and very close by to the Supreme Ct and Criminal Ct. Great opportunities there if you're interested in any of that.

I know this gets said in every thread, but it's because it's true...if you're talking schools outside the top 20 or so, go to a school in a city where you would be happy to live.

Saving $30k at Case won't be worth it if you could not see yourself living in Ohio (and more probably, Cleveland). [Edit: For your first job out of law school, at least.]

Brooklyn. Great school.

Case Western comes second: go to the school where you want to practice. For NYC go Brooklyn.
