Looking for advice on deciding between Syracuse & Chapman Law. No $ from either. Not set on practicing in So Cal but more likely than NY. Thanks

Do you have scholarships to either one?

Going to either school at sticker price will not be cheap. Syracuse has been around longer, but if you graduate there you will likely practice in upstate NY. Not saying you can't get into a NYC firm with a Syracuse JD, just that its a pretty regional school. More alumni in this economy helps. You could also watch some good basketball there.

At Chapman, its also a regional school but in a large metropolitian area. Living is more expensive, but quality of life is better than at Syracuse. To me its a tossup. California is great but its not for everyone. Chapman is a good school but their employment stats right now are pretty bad in this economy. Happens when your a new school, and they will get better at placing people. To me its a tossup. You need to decide where to practice, because both are expensive, both are regional schools, though Chapman IMO probably has more upside than Syracuse. I'm weary of TTT schools that have been around a long time.
