Emory vs UF

Post by erica » Tue Apr 06, 2010 8:49 pm

I was accepted into Emory with $66,000. I was also accepted into UF (I'm a FL resident.) I'm interested in Intellectual Property law. I'm not sure whether I want to stay in Florida once I graduate. I'm thinking about choosing Emory based on this alone... I don't want my employment prospects to plummet if I decide to move. Any thoughts?

Emory seems the obvious choice. I know UF is really cheap with in-state, but unless you are 100% committed to Florida, Emory gives you much better career prospects.

I'm taking Emory ($60k) over UF ($15k).

Since you studied Spanish and journalism, be advised that you won't be able to sit for the patent bar (unless you took an extreme number of electives in the appropriate technical areas). I suppose you could do trademarks or IP litigation though.
