Yah, they are giving me some $, dunno how much. With NYU however, as long as I take ANY PI job they pay my debt off (including COL for the time I spend there). Its the closest possible thing to a free lunch. The downside is therefore limited.

OP, I find myself in a somewhat similar, albeit slightly different, situation. After going to ASU for UG, I think the answer is pretty clear: go to UofA. U of A has a longer history, a better reputation, and sports a better ranking. Many high profile people in Arizona have come out of the U of A (partly because of its longer existence). I want to work Phoenix Biglaw when I graduate, and if the decision comes down to ASU/UA, I'll definitely be headed south. UA will probably give you a slight leg up over ASU. That's just my 2 cents. hth

A few that come to mind...Jon Kyl was editor-in-chief of law review at UA, John Shadegg went to UA, and former U.S. District Attorney for Arizona, Paul Charlton, was E-in-C of law review at UA.Veyron wrote:^ True lots of U of A people have gone to Congress. I completely agree. I'm also an ASU undergrad, but feel that UA will offer a few advantages. Still, the difference between the two schools is small enough that you should go to ASU if you have a strong pull to live in Phoenix/Tempe. Good Luck!sundevil77 wrote:OP, I find myself in a somewhat similar, albeit slightly different, situation. After going to ASU for UG, I think the answer is pretty clear: go to UofA. I suggest the Univ. of Arizona School of Law so that you can live on your own.

i love phoenix and tempe, and it really just came down to wanting to be in Phoenix. Plus, I didn't really like the vibe I got from U of A. ASU just felt "right." You know? They are so similar, that I think it just comes down to going with your gut. And my gut told me ASU. Soooo GO Devils!AsexualChocolate wrote:What swayed you to go the way of the Sundevil?msbeautifulbasham wrote:yes, i decided on ASU

So, now that ASU and U of A had their Admitted Students Days this weekend, I'm gonna revive this thread. Any new thoughts after visiting the schools?

Gonna have to stick with UofA. As far as location is concerned, I'd rather be in Phoenix/Tempe, but it seems like a UofA degree is slightly more valued than an ASU degree. Besides having at least an equal, if not greater, chance of making Phoenix Biglaw, it seems like you have pretty good opportunities for going to LA if you want.pepsi wrote:So, now that ASU and U of A had their Admitted Students Days this weekend, I'm gonna revive this thread.
