Moved: Michigan $$$ v. Chicago $ v. Columbia $0

Sorry accidentally posted this in the wrong section before -- moving it here.

In short, not attached to any location, want to keep COL low without losing out on opportunities (internships). Debt-averse.

Ideal life plan is clerkship --> corporate --> public sector/teaching. Would like to focus my career on international issues, whether that means working in a globally-oriented firm or non-profit legal work abroad. CLS seems really strong in international law; all three schools have professors that I really like.

Concerned about how lay prestige of institution might affect job opportunities immediately or in the future; pretty much ready to accept the Darrow at Michigan, but unsure if anyone has any input here on whether Chicago or CLS would be a better option?

Thanks!

I voted Chicago. You are giving up a lot in terms of financial security or whatever if you go there, but I feel like because you want to clerk and eventually go into teaching, Chicago's strength in clerkships/academia would be especially useful for you. But if you hated Chicago and loved Michigan or something then have fun not having much debt at all :)

You stated that your ideal life plan includes corporate work, so I'm not swayed the money at Michigan giving you some freedom to NOT be a corporate slave. Basically, Chicago or Columbia, and Chicago gave you money. Therefore, Chicago.
