I voted SLU just because I love St. Louis and the SLU campus is pretty cool. I've heard good things. The only thing is that you'd be competing with Wash U grads. With that said, I've heard that Wash U grads often get shut out from the St. Louis market because local firms tend to think they don't want to stay in the city and therefore don't recruit that heavily from Wash U. Could bode well for a SLU grad but you may want to look into that.

Is it that SLU is the better option eventho Indy is ranked higher?

I'll preface this by saying that I know nothing at all about IN-Indy, but I'm from STL so I can help you there.

SLU is a good option for working in St. Louis. The competition from Wash U isn't as bad as you might think inititally simply because Wash U grads will have better portability for Chicago, DC, etc. SLU grads are very well represented in STL (and KC to an extent, though lots of Mizzou grads end up out there), and it has a good reputation amongst the firms in the city. For the few bigger firms that are here, you'll need pretty solid grades to have a shot, but there are plenty of small and mid sized firms that will place value in the SLU degree.

As a town, St. Louis isn't bad at all. Cheap COL, plenty to do in terms of food, bars, sports teams, etc. It's definitely a great place to set up shop for a while.

Overall, and again, I know nothing about Indy, SLU is a very solid choice as long as you don't mind staying in STL. It's not a degree that will get you to Chicago, but you'll be fine in STL.

From what I understand, IU Indy has a virtual lock on the city of Indianapolis and is a well respected regional T2. Most of the IU B and ND grads find employment out of state and IU Indy grads are much more desirable than Valpo grads anywhere in the state.

I will likely be attending IU indy in the fall
