Can you change your mind after sending the seat deposit??

Postby Gunz353 » Mon Feb 22, 2010 10:17 am

I got a nice scholarship to a decent school that I would have no problem going to, except its in a place far from NYC and it scares me to think I might not be able to come back. Right now, the only other school that will keep me here is Rutgers-Newark, but they have my app on some weird holding status for a second review. I have no idea when they will get back to me, so can I send in my seat deposit to the other school but change my mind should Rutgers come around?? I'll just be out the $500, right?

Yes, you can change your mind. Read your school's policy to see what you are promising, though; some schools require that you withdraw all of your other applications, some schools require you to withdraw only from the other places that have already accepted you, and some schools have no requirements at all.
